Strategic Design Program

I’ve been thinking about design as business strategy a lot lately. A Google search today led to the Master in Strategic Design program from the Politecnico di Milano in, where else, Italy.

Does anyone have any suggestions for souces of information on strategic design?

  1. The Institute of Design in Chicago, Illinois offers a master of design degree in design planning. ID offers a very rigorous program in strategic design planning as well as user centered product and communication design programs that you might want to take a look at. I am an ID alumn and would be happy to tell you more about the program if this piques your interest.

“The design planning track fuses analytical methods from business, observation and evaluation methods from the social sciences, and design methods to extend the work typically done by business consultants and strategic planners.”

  2. Some time ago, I also did venture out in search for more on the topic of “strategic design planning”. Surprise, surpirse… I found a couple outdated web sites belonging to IIT students:

    http://www.id.iit.edu/~arnal/
    http://www.id.iit.edu/~mrichter/
    http://www.id.iit.edu/~dudeguy/

(allright fine, they’re REALLY BADLY outdated)

  3. Andrew says:
